President Message

Dear Telugu Community Members:

As we begin 2025, my first year as president of the American Telugu Association (ATA), I would like to wish all of our members and supporters a productive, fulfilling year ahead. Your support and dedication to our community are deeply appreciated. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the ATA president and follow our organization's tradition of strong leadership.

Todays ATA wonderfully represents the magnificent Telugu diaspora, a cadre of professionals, business owners, students, and their familiesa population that has quadrupled in size in the U.S. since 2016. Our organization seeks to foster and maintain Telugu culture and success among the 1.5 million Telugu Americans. With this increase in the Telugu population in the US, ATA has a higher responsibility to serve the growing community. That is why my key focus is unification and inclusivity within our diverse membership.

With a foundation of respectful collaboration and shared common goals, we can achieve ATAs current priorities. These include building a business platform for Telugu businesses, supporting and involving youth and secondand third-generation Telugus, engaging in Seva activities to support Telugus in crisis, forming partnerships with other nonprofit organizations and charities, and expanding ATAs reach through our cultural, community, matrimonial, technology and digital outreach and educational opportunities, as well as our member benefits. Your engagement and support for these initiatives are crucial for their success.

I take the responsibility of leading the ATA seriously. Along with the board of trustees and my colleagues, our ultimate focus is strengthening the organization to support our members and the larger Telugu community in the U.S.

Thank you in advance for your involvement in this meaningful and important mission.

Jayanth Challa
