ATA Youth Scholarships 2019-20

The American Telugu Association (ATA) is a premier non-profit organization, serving the Telugu community in Northern America and Telugu speaking people in India since 1990. ATA strives to promote Telugu culture and heritage by embracing our traditions, values, and festivals and taking the necessary steps to create a legacy by passing them on to the next generation. We are pleased to introduce youth scholarships starting from 2019-20 academic year.

Amount of Scholarship: $1,000 each
Deadline: July 15th, 2019
Announcement of Scholarship Winners: Winners will be notified on August 15th, 2019

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Open to high school seniors, planning to enroll in college within 12 months
  2. Must be a member of the American Telugu Association (ATA)
  3. Winners will be notified by e-mail and posted on www.ataworld.org
  4. The winner must consent to the use of his or her picture and other basic information on the winner page of the ataworld.org website.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Has an unweighted GPA over 3.0
  2. SAT or ACT scores
  3. Extra-curricular activities and Community service
  4. Write a brief note of your vision of ATA in the near future, How ATA could help the community. What are the needs of the community, where ATA can play a big role in improving/touching the lives of Telugu community.
  5. knowledge in the Indian arts: Learning Indian art, classical dance, music, singing, etc.
  6. Exhibits leadership or talent in non-Indian activities such as school clubs/competitions/sports
