International Women's day In New Jersey

American Telugu Association (ATA) has commemorated International Women’s Day on March 10th at Chutney Manor, New Jersey USA. Women from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and Connecticut were participated. Women from all walks of life including doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, home makers, IT professionals, and community service attended.

ATA Regional Coordinators Ravinder Guduru and Vilas Jambula welcomed the guests.

ATA Women’s Committee Chair Smt. Indira Sreeram Reddy lead the program with dedicated team of women volunteers. The Program started with lighting of lamp by chief guest, Consul General of India, Indian Consulate NY, Smt. Riva Ganguly Das, Smt. Vandana Sharma, Air India General Manager of Americas, New Jersey Congress Assembly woman Ms. Nancy Pinkins. Addressing a gathering of 400 people, guests stressed the need of women empowerment and need for education and economic independence for women.

On this occasion ATA felicitated Smt. Riva Ganguly Das, Smt. Vandana Sharma, Dr. Vasantha Perkari for their leadership and service to community.

 President-Elect of ATA Mr. Parmesh Bheemreddy, local leadership of ATA addressed the gathering and talked about the importance of this event for ATA. ATA is proud to mention that in the course of the next 2 weeks; the International Women’s Day event will be organized in more than 20 cities with thousands of women all over the USA.

This event was coordinated by ATA Regional Coordinators Vilas Reddy Jambula, Ravinder Guduru and was supported by Local ATA Board of trustees, standing committee chairs and all other ATA local leaders.

The ATA local leadership that also included past president Mr. Sudhakar Perkari garu, Advisory Committee Co-Chair Suresh Jilla, Trustees Parashuram Pinnapureddy, Ravi Patlola, Vinod Kodur, Vijay Kundur, Raghuveer Reddy, Krishna Dyapa garu, Standing Committee Chairs Ramesh Maganti, Prof. Rajashekhar Vangapati, ATA Regional Director Mahee Sanapareddy, International Coordinator Srikant Gudipati garu, ATA Regional Advisor Raj Chilumula garu, garu, Past treasurer and board of trustee Narayana Pirlamarla.

Various programs including song and dance sequences, competitions, quizzes and fashion show were organized. DJ Amar provided the music and entertainment. Overall it was a very successful event.

ATA Organizing committee expressed their thanks to all their volunteers who made this event a grand success.
