American Telugu Association (ATA) Richmond chapter celebrated International Women’s day, along with Greater Richmond Telugu Association (GRTA) on March 14th 2015 at Paradise Biryani Pointe Banquet hall, Richmond, VA.

Program was started with an opening statement from Ramesh Reddy (Richmond – RC), on programs intent, brief ATA history and women’s day programs in DC area. Ramesh also emphasized women to be part of ATA community. Over 100 women have attended the program with full excitement, involvement and couldn’t leave until end of the program. They put lots of effort contacting and communicating women about the event, since it’s the first time ATA has organized such kind of event in Richmond.

It was very entertaining all throughout, interactive with songs from several singers, anthyakshari, podupu kathalu, women speeches & recognitions with Trophies, great anchoring and nice encouraging words from DC area ATA leaders (Bhuvanesh Boojala, Soumya Kondapalli, Lokesh Reddy, Venkat Kondapolu, Ravi Bojja and Eshwar Banda).

We have recognized women with trophies for their outstanding community & voluntary work in Richmond. Many women participants thanked ATA for organizing such a great event on Women’s day to recognize women in the community for their outstanding services and promised to come back next year with same spirit with their friends and families.

This event was organized by the ATA Richmond group (Ramesh Reddy, Kiran Chada, Ramlakshman Muniganti, Govind Maddi, Raj Gaddam and others).
